In fact, in the contro panel the security center simply simply does not appear . In run an anti-virus and anti-spyware and there is nothing reported.i reboot the machine normally and there it is: the security center, with enabled firewall, automatic updates, anti-virus and other costum security settings. All seems fine. Is it really? Again, in safe mode, and it disapeared once more. If you can help me with this i would be gratefull. Thank you.

Hi This is by design. Safe mode is a troubleshooting and diagnostic mode for Windows that startsthe computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The system is completely isolated in Safe Mode. If you select Safe mode with networking from the Safe Boot options, this starts Windows in safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers ona network. When you choose this option, the Firewall will initialize and appear in Control Panel. The Security Center will not be available in either one of these safe boot options. The security center is simply a Control Panel applet that shows the current state ofsecurity related components and contains links to those components. What is it that you are trying to accomplish? Hello I thank you for taking the time to answer. Thanks for the fast and very clear answer. It makes total sense I had just installed an upgrade for a anti-spyware program and i did it in safe mode... with networking. Then i rebooted to make the anti-spyware run and i started in safe mode (no networking this time) and noticed the warning for the first time - i have to confess that i run my anti-virus and anti-spyware in safe mode many times and never noticed that warning. So has you can see i wasn't trying to accomplish much I got worried unnecessarilly - a non-problem after all.Sorry for troubling you with such a small issue. And thank you once again.Sincerelyjf

Do you have any idea about what could cause it? I thought about it and dont recall making any changes except the upgrade (re-installation) of the anti-spyware. No, read my message again, the Security Center is not available in either one of these safe mode options. It's a good idea to run your antivirus / anti-spyware in safe mode since there are less components that are loading and running that might interfere with the operation of these programs. HiSorry to bother You YET AGAIN but...When i go to safe mode,it says security center disabled...Ok...Not a problem...But what's a problem,is that I CAN'T scan my computer...(I'm using F secure) I click on the shortcut but...Nothing...It's loading for a sec and nothing...It won't open...Well i scanned my computer with spybot S&D but i guess F secure is better....So...Any ideas?Thanks.PS.I just noticed how old this thread is but if you still could answer me please
