secondary HDD serious problem
I built a server with a dual quad core amd motherboard and had installed 2 x 596 GB hdd's to perform as a RAID 1. However, after installation of Windows 7, the secondary hdd was formatted and now only has 100 MEGABYTES available and is TOTALLY USELESS. Folks, this has me fuming. I NEED BOTH of my HDD's and one of my legs is cut off because of this. HOW do I get my full capacity back on my secondary HDD????? Once I have this problem solved, I am removing Windows 7 (professional) and will install a server software program on a 64GB SSD HD while using the HDD duo as my memory storage. But, my big problem for now is getting the full capacity of my secondary HDD back. I could use some advice on this.

Are you trying to do this as a software RAID 1 in Windows 7? If so, you cannot implement it on the system drive(s). You must use hardware RAID 1 for the system drive(s). Definately not a software RAID 1. Unfortunately, the setup corrupted my secondary hdd and limited it's usability to nill at only 100mb. I was forced to do a compete wipe of both hdd's. I've been attempting to set this up differently now by using an SSD as the primary boot device in slot 0 with the 2 hdd's in slots 1 & 2 for mass storage. So far, all this system can see atm is only the SSD. Attempts at setting up the raid configuration during the set up process has yeilded only IDE and some other configuration that isn't the RAID option.LeviathanOPS

You need to go to the support forum of your motherboard manufacturer or contact the Techncial Support. Your current problem is hardware configuration. Once you get your hardware configuration straightened out Windows 7 will see the drives as you want them. What you have right now is not a Windows 7 problem. There are lots of people out there using RAID in Windows 7, but they have their hardware properly configured for the situation. This is not a hardware setup and configuration forum. This is a Windows 7 operating system forum. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
