screen white balance is yellowy after waking from sleep.
Hello I have an Asus g51jx with nvidia gts360M video card. Everytime I wake the laptop up from sleep, the whites are all yellowy. To solve this I have to open up the screen calibration and run through it to make the whites white again.
This seems to only happen when I wake up from sleep. If I restart after calibrating it retains the white balance until the next time I sleep the computer. Any ideas on what is the culprit?

does it eventually go back to normal if you don't fix it?

not that I am aware of. I have left it for a couple hours before I get sick of the yellow tint and recalibrate.

have you gone to http://www.geforce.com/drivers and looked for you driver there ...the 300M series and loaded the latest drivers?
also while installing the latest driver make sure to check the box that says to perform a clean install

Just tried that and it still looks yellowy after waking from sleep. Add to that when I run the calibration utility I just have to click next and the color looks proper, so I don't have to finish the calibration for it to make a change and I can even
click cancel and the color looks proper until the next time I sleep the computer.

Have you set the desired profile to be the default in Color Management?

OK, I think I solved it. First I renamed the .ICC file that was the calibration after running Microsoft screen calibration software. Then reran the wizard. But what I noticed
was that Asus had an .ICC file as well. So I went to support.asus and went looking for a monitor driver or something like that. I didn't find a monitor driver but found the splendid video enhancement program and reran that. So far it's keeping the color calibration
when I wake from sleep. I am fairly confident in saying that whatever the splendid applet does was the culprit and reloading/repairing it was the solution. Thanks all for the ideas that led to a solution
