Try stretching the window to the size you want manually. IOW, don't use the Maximize button. When you have it the size you want, exit the program using the X button. Hopefully the window size will be remembered when you next start the program.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Logging off and logging on the next day. I have had Norton since I first purchased computer which runs complete scan daily. It seems to be keeping all malware/virus at bay so far.

Norton isn't sufficient. It won't catch non-viral malware. I do suggest you at least scan with the free version of MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware . Aside from that, you might try a System Restore to when things worked. If nothing avails, then I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas. Regrets.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Thought you'd like to know this. Contacted Norton Security and found that opening internet explorer from the start menu screen opens maximized. When i open with icon internet explorer opens with minimized window.Paul

Yes, this makes a difference. I don't know what Norton Security has to do with it but all you need do is right-click on desktop shortcuts, left-click on Properties, and choose "Maximize" for how they open. Apply/OK out.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
