I have never seen that before so I downloaded and ran it on my system (I am a part time daredevil) and it told me 28 things that needed to be optimized and configured. It told me the same thing and I have no scheduled tasks either (at least not at the moment). The scheduled task polling settings should be optimized. The Scheduled task polling setting is currently set to 2.This action specifies the strategy used for optimizing processor time on the system. It determines how much processor time the threads of a process receive each time they are scheduled and how much the allotted time can vary and the relative priority of foreground and background processes. Setting a value of 38 for this setting will result in a smoother, faster response time for your foreground program. The results look intimidating and if you call the 800 number, they will be happy to straighten out your afflicted system via remote access and some amount of currency. It looks like they just report some things that you might adjust but many things listed do not apply to me at all or are some general guidelines that would probably not hurt if you followed them - something is not optimized for best performance, decreasing the size of my Internet browser cache and emptying my recycle bin. I don't care.It says my Startup programs are okay, but that could be because I have zero startup programs. It also reports that any security. antivirus or antimalware application that does not come from Microsoft is not optimal. I know that is not true. The good news is my computer chip speed meets the requirements and my operating system is up to date.On some systems, it might really find and report some things that need attention though, so I will not write it off completely.I think when you use those kinds of online free scanning check my system programs, they will always find something to complain about to lure you into calling them and paying for things you might not really need.I think I will create a few real problems and see what it has to say...If you think your system is afflicted and needs attention, do this and we can fix it:Please provide additional information about your system:What is your system make and model? What is your XP Version and Service Pack?Describe your current antivirus and anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc.Does the afflicted system have a working CD/DVD drive?Do you have a genuine bootable XP installation CD (this is not the same as any Recovery CDs that came with your system)? What do you see that you don't think you should be seeing? What do you not see that you think you should be seeing?Fill in the blank: My system was working fine until: ____________________________________________.Click Start, Run and in the box enter:msinfo32Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. For video driver information, expand the Components, click Display, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information. This will minimize back and forth Q&A and eliminate guesswork.Perform some scans for malicious software, then fix any remaining issues:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if desired. When the scans run clean, then troubleshoot any remaining issues.Do, or do not. There is no try.I decided to save up points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

I solved my slow computer problem by upgrading the RAM from 0.5 Gig to 1.5 Gig, so the issue has become moot.Nevertheless, I still do not know how to change the setting. I am convinced as towhy I ought to do it.

What I read about it doesn't make sense to anything besides a Windows Server environment (which I am not running), so I did not pursue it very far.As a matter of fact, several things the reports says do not make sense. I think they are just trying to lure you into paying them for nothing but good feeling. As a GeekNerd57, when you figure it out, let me know! Do, or do not. There is no try.I decided to save up points for a new puppy instead of a pony!
