saving an iternet connection with windows 7 professional 64 bit
Hi there,
I have two questions and they are as follows:
I recently upgraded from Windows XP SP3 32bit to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I installed my wireless modem witch worked perfectly with Windows XP SP3 and now I installed it just after I installed Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit, i can connect my device
to the internet but it won't let me go online. How can i connect to the internet?
And 2. How do i save my wireless internet connection?

Do you have the proper drivers installed for the card? Where are you obtaining an IP address from: ISP or local router? Can you ping your default gateway?Matt W. CCNP, CCSP, CCDA, RHCT, MCSE, MCSA, MCP+I, A+

Hi,
Windows 7 didn't have all the drivers, i had to download the drivers manually from the manufacturers website. Telstra is the ISP and its supposed to be default when it's installed. I'm not sure how to ping the default gateway

Please explain what you mean by the above. What's the difference
between connecting to the internet and going online? Also tell us what
"won't let me go online" means. Exactly how are you trying? What
happens when you try? If you get an error message, please quote it
verbatim.
How can i connect to the internet?
Sorry? You said above "i can connect my device to the internet." What
do you mean by this question?

In addition, click start, input cmd in the search box. Then, in the command prompt, input the command:
ipconfig /all
What's the result?
