Hello, I have a server 2003 network populated with xp client. We're about to add a few windows 7 desktops and I'm getting to grips with group policy. I've installed rsat on a win 7 desktop and enabled gpmc. However gpmc is extremely slow. I've copied the policydefinitions folder from the windows folder to \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies but I'm not sure if the gpmc is referencing those or the local folder. It's also very slow to browse to \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies I've already tried disabling netbios over tcp/ip, things haven't improved. Thanks

1. Slow response is, in many cases, cause either by an error in DNS settings or GPO. 2. It is not enough to disable Nebios over TCP/IP, you should clear the contyent of cache. The same is true when you fiddle with DNS settings. 3. Use network monitor to analyze latencies and packed exchanges. (Eithe from Microsoft of free Wireshark.) Regards Milos
