router firmware upgraded
I upgraded my Thomson SpeedTouch 570 router with firmware v4.2.1. Now it only works when it wants, and I have to change the router configurations, reset the router, configure again and then windows 7 (ultimate) display a router new router (SpeedTouch... 3) and that's when it connects to internet. But I can't find this router it is using displayed anywhere, not when this device is working, because it displays the original router (without 3), can't access router web page, and when it all normal (no internet) the router that connects to internet (with ... 3) doesn't appear either, any suggestions?

Have you considered rolling back and re-applying the previous firmware on the router to get you operational again....then contact the vendor for support. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

What you are experiencing is normal in Windows 7. The firmware upgrade to the router significantly changed the identification of the hardware and now Windows 7 has designated it as the third SpeedTouch, Speedtouch #3. Where are you looking for the router to be displayed? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
