route add
HelloI tried to add a static route by using the "route add" command.I got an Errormessage saying that somehow ( testing the german version of windows 7 ) I need "higher rights" to be allowed to.I've already logged in as Administrator,so,how can I get "higher rights" ?Manfred

You need to run the command prompt as administrator, even tho you are logged into Windows as an admin.To do so: Windows key -> type cmd, and right click on the cmd.exe that is offered in the search list. Select Run as Administrator.You should now be able to run your route add command.

Hi Manfred, Microsoft changed the user account security policy since Windows Vista. A standard user does not have administrator privilege anymore. If you want to use higher rights run a application, please right click the file and choose Run as administrator. For more information: User Account Control Step-by-Step Guide Hope it helps.
