restore point growing
hi all, I deleted all my restore points (from a system drive of 500gb) that had started totaling some 150+ gb (even though I had this system for 3 months! -- not sure if this is typical !? ) -- so, wanting to start with a clean slate, I deleted all of my restore points (doing a full backup prior to deleting the restore points of course), manually created a restore point which was about 80mb at the time of creation. Then, as I started using the computer, I noticed that the space used for restore points (even though no additional restore points were created) jumped to 1.4 gb in a span of ONLY 2 days. What is going on? -- I was under the impression that once a restore point is created, it is a point in time, finite "backup", one that does not grow. Secondly, why does stuff increase so much, in such a short period of time and what can I do to prevent such a growth, besides limiting the space used to say 2% or so, of the disk size -- and more importantly, if I do limit the storage size, how can I ensure that multiple restore points can be created without adversely impacting the "restorability" of these historical points? -- ie, how can I make sure that only important stuff is having a "restore point" created for and not just a bunch of junk files... thx, Cos

Also, you can run Disk CleanUp to release the hard disk space. For more information, refer to: Delete files using Disk Cleanup Schedule Disk Cleanup to run regularly
