Hi, Did you restart the computer after the installation completely? After that, please retry to perform update again. If the issue persists, please try to rename the Windows Update temp folder. Rename the Windows Update Softwaredistribution folder ---------------------------------------------------------------- This problem may occur if the Windows Update Software distribution folder has been corrupted. We can refer to the following steps to rename this folder. Please note that the folder will be re-created the next time we visit the Windows Update site. 1. Click "Start", in "Start Search" item, type: "notepad" (without quotes) and press Enter. 2. Copy the following commands and then paste them into the opened Notepad window: net stop wuauserv ren %windir%\SoftwareDistribution SD.old net start wuauserv 3. After pasting the above commands, please close the Notepad window. Choose "Save" when you are prompted to save the file. Type "register.bat" as the file name and choose Desktop from the left panel as the location. 4. Refer to the Desktop and right click the register.bat file, then choose "Run as administrator". 5. You will see a DOS-like window processing. If the above steps not help, this issue can be caused by the corruption of the .Net Framework components. Hi Sabrina, I ran the register .bat file and that reset the updates, the four installed again and still came up as availible updates. The issue is on 2 differant systems, one with Win 7 Ultimate x64 and the other has Win 7 pro x64 With reading the other blog about this I saw that win 7 Pro only had .Net 4 Client and Profile The win 7 Ultimate x64 had all flavors of .Net. at this point I just umarked these 4 updates as they come up. I think that your system is for whatever reason replacing one of the .dll that come with the updates. As a result each time windows updates agent is running is finidg that and marking this updates as applicable again. You may have problem with .Net framework. You can use this tool to remove the .Net Framework and then download .NET and re-install again http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2005/04/08/406671.aspx The other thing is (which is not recommanded) when you see the updates showing in the windows update you go to custom install and right click on them and chose to hide. Then the system will not try to install them again untill you "un-hide" them.
