removing updates
I am trying to clean up unused or redundant programs. I show .NET Framework1.1, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5. I am using Windows XP on a Dell desktop. Do I need to keep the older updates? 2.0 and 3.0 use about 180 MB each. What about other programs like multiple Java updates?1 person got this answerI do too

Unfortunately, the .NET systems almost class as different systems - a lot of the stuff that uses .NET1 will break if it's not installed - and unless you know that you're not going to use on it's better to leave it installed. The Java version, however, are simple upgrades for the most part simply keep the latest version (1.6.20, IIRC is the current one). If any programs do *require* earlier versions, they will normally specify which, and it can be reinstalled. -- Noel Paton CrashFixPC Nil Carborundum Illegitemi www.crashfixpc.co.uk
