remote desktoping to vista over vpn
Hi, We have 2 vista machines on our domain at work. I can remote desktop to both Vista machines whenI am at work. I can't connect to either one of the vista machines when i vpn into the domain. It looks like those machines don't even exist. We have a VPN network with Windows 2003 servers and ISA. I can connect to all machines just fine when i am VPN'ed into the network except from the vista machines. To fix it, i disabled the firewall but that didn't help. Thanks in advance, Adem

Hi Adem, I would like to confirm if you can ping the Windows Vista machines via the VPN connection. Meanwhile, please temporarily stop the service Base Filtering Engine on the Windows Vista machine and check the result. If the issue persists, please collect the following information for further research: 1. Windows IP Configuration:========================After establishing the VPN connection, please export the Windows IP Configuration to the current thread by using the command ipconfig /all. 2. Network Monitor:========================1) Download NetMon3.1 from the following website and install it on the Windows Vista machine (at work) and the machine (outside):http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=18b1d59d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&DisplayLang=en2) Log onto the machines, right-click the Netmon icon and select Run as Administrator to launch NetMon3.1.3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1 window, click Create a new capture tab 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window.5) After that, press F10 to start NetMon.Note: Please start NetMon on both machines.6) On the machine (outside), please ping the Windows Vista machine.7) If ping complete successfully, please try to remote desktop to the Windows Vista machine. 8) Once the issue occurs or if ping fails, go back to the NetMon window and press F11 to stop the NetMon.9) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file and upload them to the following space:https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=0aa0c7f4-e24c-4d22-9a11-042de67d52d4Password: vUo!H7yBn@O2 Note: Please let me know the IP address of the both machines. Please drop a quick note in the current thread to inform me after uploading the file. I look forward to your reply.
