remote assistance windows 7 to xp
Hi, I am trying to use remote assistance by using an invitation file to connect to my friend's computer. I am on windows 7 home premium and he is on windows xp service pack 3. When i tried connecting to his computer nothing happened. We each had our computers set so that we allowed remote assistance on the computer and for our computers to be controlled by remote assistance and the box for *must be running vista* was left unchecked. I had the file and the correct password. He edited the registry to set DWORD AllowTSConnections to 1, fDenyTSConnections to 0, and fAllowToGetHelp to 1 all under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server. We turned our firewalls off and are only behind comcast cable modems. Our internet connection was working. Nothing helped. He could connect to his other windows xp computers at home but i could not connect to his computer. Does anyone know what else might be the problem?
