Does the remote desktop work fine before? Are you performing the remote desktop connection with the rdp files or with the UI(mstsc)?
Someone else has come across the similar issue and resolve it by unchecking the "Printer" option or the "Audio"option from the "mstsc" UI control panel.

If you are using the rdp files, we can try to connect from the UI then recreate the rdp files to have a check.
If there is any third party antivirus installed, please turn off them temporarilly to have a check.
To isolate a third party conflict issue, we can perform a clean boot to have a troubleshoot.
