my computer is telling me that the registry editing has been disabled by administrator for windows xp home edition my computer had viruses and that is what caused it how do i fix it This is the Vista forum. However, I will attempt to help with the issue: 1. Are you completely free from infection? If not run your ‘anti’ programs first. 2. To enable regedit, log on to a different user account, click the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and search (F3) for the key DisableRegedit. If it is set to 1 (one), change it to 0 (zero), close the registry editor and restart the computer. Create a system restore point or back up the registry before making any registry changes. Good luck.
