recovered emails from a reformated drive and need to import to outlook
Had a hard drive crash and decided to upgrade to W7 while I was at a poiunt of reinstall. Did not realize Windows mail (Vista) kept emails in Windows. Backed up C: drive minus Windows. Installed 7 and had to run a recovery software to retrieve emails post reinstall. Now I have 7k emails in a folder on desktop. All in .eml format. What program can I import these into? for a mail client. Need to get them to outlook eventually. Tried WLM and clicked and dragged some to inbox there but although they moved they are empty emails. Also that changed them in the desktop folder to a FOL file....not sure. Thanks

did you open the .eml in notepad to may sure you did get the file recovered?? Messages saved as .eml files are imported into Microsoft Outlook in several steps. You should: Import .eml files into Outlook Express folders. To do it, you should open Outlook Express and Windows Explorer at the same time. Select .eml files in Windows Explorer using the Shift + arrow keys or the Ctrl key + the left mouse button. Use your mouse to drag the selected .eml files to the Outlook Express folder. Open Microsoft Outlook 2000 and select the File | Import & Export item in the main menu of the program. Select the Import Internet Mail and Addresses item and click the Next button Select the Outlook Express 4.x, 5 item from the list, leave the Import Mai checkbox selected and click the Finish button
