recognize local printers Vista remote desktop
I am not the most computer literate person around but I have tried everything I can think of to figure out how to get my computer to recognize local printers through remote desktop. I am running Vista Business32 bit and using the same printer (HP deskjet 5600)now that worked fabulously on remote desktop with XP. I can connect to the remote desktop without any issues but the only printer that attaches to my computer is the Microsoft Document Image Writer. I am connect with the terminal server at my workplace through remote desktop. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

did you get help. I have tried everything too, even contacting the printer manufacturer. Still I can not get the computer with vista to recognize the printer that worked fine on windows xp.

I haven't gotten any help from anyone. I'm with you, I think Vista sucks too--one of the worst decisions I've made. I would love to go back to XP--at least everything worked in that environment.
