quick temp speed boost???
Hi everybody! I am doing a system scan right now for viruses, like I always do and I just wanted to know if there was a way to shut down things, or put my computer in a mode that would increase the speed of this, for example, I was able to shutdown some processes in the control panel... kind of a vague question... but any tips???

Hi, You can perform the system scan in Safe Mode. Or Clean Boot is another option. And you can input “msconfig” in start\search box and press Enter, in startup tab, remove the option of some programs to startup when PC booting. Regards, Leo Huang Leo Huang TechNet Community Support

It's usually better to schedule full scans when your not using your computer, This make the scans more accurate, But limiting the startup programs will also work well for quicker startup as leo has provided with msconfig and the startup section. Uninstalling some junkware or programs/ games you never use is also not a bad idea with computer manufactures now days with their mostly introductory software packages they offer.
