qeateov.exe Using high rate of processes causing my CPU useage to stay at or near 100 percent
My process explorer recently showed this new process of qeateov.exe and it keeps my CPU running full bore. And it won't allow me to end it. Also tried shutting it off with MSConfig but itjust keeps showing up in my process explorer. I googled it and cannot find any info on it on the net. Also searched my HD and it didn't show up anywhere. Only place it seems to be is in my registry under windows run once. Can someone explain this to me or advise me how to get this thing off my puter before it burns up my Laptop. ( Dell Inspiron 1150 running Win XP home with all updates current) This process makes the fan run full bore & the puter gets pretty warm. Got to rid myself of this thing. Any help would be appreciated. Tnx. Denny1 person needs an answerI do too

Can you upload the file to e.g. virustotal.com, to have it scanned by a number of AV products? You will get a report that should provide some indication as to whether you're dealing with malware, and if so, what it is, which can aid in its removal. You might consider checking out Sysinternals' Autoruns (same developer as Process Explorer), to see if you can find and disable qeatov.exe from there.

Tnx for the help. I installed Autoruns. Wow what a program. qeateov didn't seem to be connected to anything so I just deleted it in Autoruns. It hasn't returned so far. Great. Have a nice weekend.Denny
