We are trying to setup an image for Windows 7. Under X, to create the image, we install the software, tweak certain settings then delete installation files and other files in order to minimize the user profile. Under Windows 7 we are not sure where we can remove files to decrease the profile size. Does anyone know of a safe way we can reduce the size of our bloated user profile ? Thanks.

First, please let us know if you want to deploy your image in a domain or anywhere else. In addition, I want to know if you just want to create the image using small space, or you want to allocate little small space for accounts.Generally, the user profile is a collection of settings that make the computer look and work the way you want it to. It contains your settings for desktop backgrounds, screen savers, pointer preferences, sound settings, and other features. I don't understand why you want to delete the installation file, once you delete the intallation files, the setting would not work either. If you want, you can safely remove the video, pictures, music folder in the user profile folder to reduce the size. After that, you can refer to the KB973289 to customize your default user profiles in Windows 7. I hope this can help you. John
