problems with windows 7 workgroup connections
Hi, i am having a problem trying to get my windows 7 network working. i have 3 computers A. desktop - windows 7 home B. desktop - windows 7 pro C. laptop - windows 7 pro my problem is that A and B can 'see' C, bur when i go to open a directory, it says you have no access. now, C can 'see' A and B, and can move files to/from, but if i try to open a folder on C from A or B, i get the no premissions allowed. also, i have a network printer installed on A. when i go to install it on C, i get "must dwonload driver from C", but it won't do it. it just stops. i've been fighting and fight with this for too long, so i'm hoping someone can help - all computers use the same user name password - all are in the same workgroup -all can ping each other - all havew network discovery on, homegroup off, password off. any help would be graciously accepted. thnaks, Tom

I suggest you use the Homegroup feature of Windows 7 and avoid these problems. I have 5 Windows 7 computers in my Homegroup and I have no problem doing any of these functions. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
