problems
I have Windows 7: 2010 Office Pro There is a recurring pattern now with ALL my mice: 1. had a wireless Logitech from MSFT - worked fine, then "died" 2. Boeing mini mouse: USB port connection working fine yesterday - "died" 3. HP Wireless Mobile Mouse: worked fine until 2 days ago - "died" In both the cases of the Wireless mice: I reinstalled programs; uninstalled; reinstalled. The software is reconized by laptop - yet all of the mice functionality and the "recognition" on the wifi is not working. In the case of the HP "softap" is not installed - yet ALL the time, the software exists and is downloaded from website (HP) fried after on 1 1/2 month use. Logitech was "fried" after 7 monthsuse. Now the USB mouse is not working as well (3 hour use). Is there something you may suggest to fix this "mouse" problem w/Windows 7 - 2010 Office Pro? I am really getting frustrated w/all the mice working, then stopping all of a sudden or in some cases "fried" since they also do not work on another computer. Any help is appreciated as this "pattern" is now of concern to me....Thank you in advance for your help if it works...

This sounds like a hardware issue with your USB port - the power output may be not properly regulated. Were all the mice plugged into the same port? I agree with Noel D Paton. Get your computer checked by a hardware expert.

You may have a usb port that your wireless mouse adaptor gone bad, sounds like a voltage irregulatity is frying the wireless reciever. I have used the MS Wireless mouse 4000, and 3000 for several years now with no issues other than changing the battires and cleaning them with a wetnap.-- :P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.

Can't agree with Noel D Paton more. The problem may cause by the bad USB port, you can try to use the front USB port and back USB port. BTW, it may just the USB port do not have enough power to serve the device. Can the USB device work with only single USB device plugged in? If it works, just check out which device use too much power. Hopes HelpBest Regards, Nova C. Altesse, BBA, Bsc, ABA, MCTS, MPN, MCNPS, MCVSS, MCSS, MBS

Thank you Nova, Noel, Jason, Shaikoo, for your suggestions. However, all of the USBs (all of them - backside/side ports) work fine. Tested these w/my external b/up and other items such as camera pics sync. So I am still stumped.Lourdes Tsukada

Lourdes Tsukada They may work fine with other things - but how many other things are likely to be that sensitive to over-voltage situations? If the PC is still in warranty get it checked out by the vendor - if not, it's still worth the money to get it tested properly. -- Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Noel, thank you for your reply. This is why I am stumped. Already did what you are saying. As a matter of fact now the HP will not even install itself. The software now states the HP wireless mouse is not compatible to Windows 7. I honestly have given up. Thanks for your help. This is one of the weirdest things...Lourdes Tsukada

Look in the device manager again and enable Hidden Devices. Look in the Networking area and see what's installed there. (how many 6to4 adaptors, and ISATAP adaptors, specifically)Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Just my Blackberry sync cables. I am now using an old Dell port plug mouse and it works fine. Previously a mini gifted Boeing minimouse - port plug was the one I used after wifi mouse crashed. Worked then "out of commission". Sooo...I am really stumped on this and have given up. You are the only one who seems to be assisting me...so for this I am really grateful. Lourdes Tsukada

I like a challenge :) I'm not sure, however that I can really be of any more help on this - but it still sounds as if your USB ports are goosed (as I said in my first post in this thread), and that you'd be well advised to get the machine checked over thoroughly.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Noel, thank you for al your help. I took it to a tech. They returned my money since they did not find anything either. I guess it is "goosed" as you say. Thank you again for attempting :) lourdesLourdes Tsukada
