problem with hosts file
hy i had a problem accessing specific web pages (e.g. filehippo.com) from all web-beowsers. i found a solution for this problem by applying the "Microsoft Fix it 50267" fix. the problem is that it is happening again "the Microsoft Fix it 50267" stil solves the problem but im interested in a soultion that will stop this problem from recuring over and over again. im using win7 profesional 64bit with sp1. thank you very much asaf

This type of activity is usually the result of some sort of malware. I would suggest updating and performing a full antivirus scan as well as considering downloading and installing malwarebytes and running a full scan with it as well.

i have malwarebytes, spybot s&d, win security essentials, emisoft anti malware instaled. scaned with each of them and didnt get any results. also tried windows MRT and hijack this with no hits... any other tools that i should try? thank you for the quick answer.

Hitman Pro works well and I have used it find Malware that was missed by Malwarebytes.IT Guides and Videos | itgeared.com

well it didnt find any harmfull files. only some tracking cookies mostly google's... thanks for the try jorge any other suggestions?

Hi, This could be hard to find the what the culprit is, but you can test if this issue occurs in Clean Boot mode, this could eliminate the software reason.Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

And you may also try using Google Public DNS Servers ! Network Connections>Network card>Properities>Jump to Networking Tab>IPV4 Properities>General Tab>Click the radio Button which says "Use the Following DNS Server Address" Prefered DNS server : 8.8.8.8 Alternate DNS Server : 8.8.4.4 Hope this helps, Thanks, SurenFace the fact tat we all have plenty to learn about this field.
