If the drive works with CDs but won't read even data DVDs, the DVD laser is bad - replace the drive.

Will all the DVDs not be played or just the specific one?

If only one DVD won`t be played, this DVD may have been corrupted.
If all the DVD won`t be played, we can try the following fixit tool to have a check.

If the issue persists, just as S.Sengupta posted, there is a possibility that the DVD laser has corrupted.
