problem allowing XP laptop to read a USB memory stick/keyboard
I have an XP laptop which is joined into a Windows 2008 Domain. When a normal user is logged in it is not possible to plug in a USB keyboard or a USB memory stick without a pop up box stating "you must be a member of the administrators group on this computer to install this hardware". There are no special settings on the laptop, all major GPOs have been removed. this does not happen on other seemingly identically configured laptops on the same domain. i have seen the link below - are there any other fixes i can try before a re-install is necessary?http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2007/11/29/windows-requires-administrator-rights-to-install-usb-flash-drives/cheersdc1 person needs an answerI do too
