Sure, there are ways to do this. However, it depends on whether your have XP Pro and whether this is on a workstation which is a domain member. Please provide more details about the computer, the server, your end goal, etc. so we can give you focused help.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

This is a computer lab at a middle school. They are XP Pro and they are domain members, however the domain includes several other school. All of ours use the same username and password, unique to my school. The goal is to stop students from changing settings, such as file names and display. Is it possible to lock the homepage setting? Thanks in advance!

Yes, all of those things are handled by setting Group Policies on the server. You should create an Organizational Unit for your students and set your Group Policies there. If you don't know how to do this, you need to ask your IT Dept., have an outside consultant come in and do it correctly, or start reading. I'll give you some links but basically you want to start at your Server OS's homepage at Microsoft.com (I assume you're running a Microsoft Server OS) and TechNet. Questions about using Group Policy should be asked in its newsgroup. In a newsreader: microsoft.public.windows.group_policy From the web: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg= microsoft.public.windows.group_policy Excellent resource for all things Server-related: http://www.petri.co.il TechNet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx Windows Server Group Policy Home: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/grouppolicy/default.aspxMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
