pre User Manual
Just wondering if there is a Pre user manual for Windows Seven. Something to read about allthe bells an whistles inside Win 7. IunderstandWin 7operates like Vista, but I'm a die hard XP user and skip the Vista upgrade. Thanks in Advance

I've been using Microsoft OS's since the DOS days - and the manuals from back then were easy to read and understand. As the Resource Kits became available, they too increased in complexity. Also, since Windows is a "general purpose" OS, each new release incorporates new features - and retains most of the old. So you've got an ever increasing feature set that's now difficult for one individual to grasp in it's entirety. That being said, most information is available - but it's difficult to tell what's important to each individual user. The most common starting place is in Control Panel...All Control Panel Items...Getting StartedThe next most common place would be the Windows 7 website here.Beyond that it's a matter of research. Just the other day I found an article with a hidden gem about the right-click context menu. If you press "Shift" while right clicking, you'll get some additional options. I never knew that this existed, and don't even know if it's a Win7 feature or was available earlie!- John

Here are the books that I always standby and recommend. All of the same ones that are available for Windows Vista will become available for Windows 7 around the time an RC is released. If you already know Vista, then you have a significant head start.
