pre-order download timeline?
OK i know its only 8am here in seattle, still early on the Win7 launch day. My question is, at what point today do I / we get the email with instructions on how to download the ISO. I would have thought that if stores were opening at midnite to sell the software, we might have gotten the email too.I'm at work and cant do anything even if i did get the email, but still... i cant wait to get it up and running. Thanks for the Beta, this new OS is the best so far. good job.ColeR

+1 Mr Softie should have sent out an email explaining what they were planning and what the schedule was. I did get an email to confirm my CC a month ago.

Sort of a waste of (virtual) ink, but...I received the download email at around 10AM EDT (7AM your time). I've already downloaded the 32 bit ISO. (Note that the default is not an ISO.)It was delivered at over 700kB/s; looks like the servers are up to the task. I'm getting similar performance with the X64 ISO. (I use X86 on a laptop, and X64 on a desktop.)Impressive.I'll have to avoid the impulse to stay in and work on my monitor tan, though. Looks like the last warm (21C) day of the year here (Connecticut).

Nothing as of yet here 11:37 AM EST - are they staggering releasing it (alphabetical order for example) to keep the servers from getting hammered all at once? I have off work today so today would be a perfect time for me to install it as long as it doesn't get too late in the day.

It's possible that there's a problem with your order. I had pre-ordered two copies (at the same time, with the same credit card), but only one of them went through (at 8am EDT today). The other was still listed in my Microsoft Store account as "pending". I called the Microsoft store, and they said the order had not completed properly for some reason, so they cancelled it and placed a new order (at the same pre-order price), which was then immediately available for download, along with the product key.
