performance issues
I have a Balance pc with XP. Was running fine until 6 weeks ago, had Firefox installed, use for work. Upgrades to Firefox seemed to cause peformance problems. Ran antivirus (clean), registry cleanup, mailcious software removal(clean), no improvement. Loaded Google Chrome, improvement for about 10 minutes. Uninstalled Firefox, Chrome, old programs from previous owner, very little improvement. Noticed page file usage is high even when cpu usage is low. Installed memory booster, made things worse, so I uninstalled that too. Any ideas?2 people need an answerI do too

Start by doing systematic scanning for malware and don't skip the preparatory work. Using registry cleaners and memory boosters/optimizers is a good way to damage Windows. And a lot of those programs come with their own malware.http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malwarehttp://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 - registry cleaner threadMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
