password problems damaged keyboard
after spilling coffee on my keyboard it is now unusable. I cannot log on because I can't type the password. I bought a new Microsoft 7000 keyboard but cannot instal it because I am unable to type in my administrators password to get windows to run. The new keyboard remains unusable until I can access windows to instal the new keyboard and the old keyboard is just not working at all - any suggestions?

If your dead keyboard is PS/2, then I would suggest finding access to another PS/2 Keyboard that would work. Windows will identify any generic PS/2 keyboard, and you can just log in using that. If it is USB, then the same still goes, it will most likely recognize it. If you don't have access to a PS/2 or USB keyboard, they can be found cheap at thrift stores or even bought new at a low price. But, if you have not tried it, just try plugging in your wireless keyboard and see what happens.
