I havent used my desk top in years now trying to log on and i have no idea what my password was. Anything I can do?

Start the computer in Safe mode and log into the built-in account named Administrator . You'll have to know the password, if any, for that account. Once in, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and change the password for your regular account.Then, restart the computer and log into your regular account with the new password.
