outlook express in email not allowing me to email, however is receiving emails...
I can receive emails, but cannot send out - email provider is road runner, they cannot help me, the error that comes up is below and seems to indicate a firewall or security issue, however, when i disable them, nothing changes in the error or ability to send emails... The connection to the server has failed. I have exactly the same problem and error message. It started when I changed internet service provider.

Hi SuzikonaDo you have any antivirus program running, Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. The Outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication. If you are using Outlook Express you should check the box 'My server requires authentication.
