optional update delivery is not working
Hi All of a sudden over the last couple of days i have started getting a pop up windos entitled "optional update delivery is not working", with a warning i a may be a victim of software counterfeiting. I think windows update is working, as it says i am up to date, and last updated itself yesterday which is after the time i first stated getting this message. Is microsoft aware of this, and is everything ok on my computer? I'm hoping it's something like messenger or live mail trying to update, and refusing because i am running an unrecognised version, however, it would be useful if whatever is causing the error were to indentify itself, or would that help piracy. Anyway, could someone let me know if there is nothing to worry about, or whether i need to fix anything. Thanks

Try to use the system restore tool: click "Start', type "system restore" in the "Start" Search box, and then click "System Restore" in the Programs list. In the "System Restore" dialog box, select "Show more restore points" checkboxand then click "Next". In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to see the issue, and then click "Next". Click "Finish". The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created. Have you any programs installed before this error? Have you any antivirus installed? Check for malware after system restore. My English is not very well.

System restore got rid of the problem altho it has caused a few other things that i hope won't get any more serious. I installed nothing before the problem arose, altho 4 windows updates had occurred. I have McAfee Beta and all checks come back clear.

Hi, I started receiving these annoying dialogs yesterday. Windows 7 RC x64 I ran the MGADiag.exe here is the output (removed prod key): The status says Genuine in Green, and this is RC so should be good till March or so... what's the issue? Why is an "Optional" update required... shouldn't it read "Required"...?? how do I fix it?
