Hello Songbird3030 You have not said which program you use to read your mail. The following instructions apply to Outlook Express. You might find similar settings for other programs. 1. Open Outlook Express, click on "Tools" in the menu bar, thenclick on "Options".In the Options window, click on the "Read" tab, and make sure there isNOT a check mark in front of "Read all messages in plain text".Click "OK" and see if this makes a difference.2 .Check that IE is registered as your default browser. IE Tools|Internet Options|Programs tab|check the box "IE should check whether it is the default browser"|OK. Next time you boot you should be asked if you want IE to be the default browser. Click Yes.3. Go to the Control panel and double click on "Internet Options".In the "Internet Properties" window, click on the "Programs" tab andthen click the button that says, "Reset Web Settings..."A window will come up asking you if you want to reset your web settingsto their original defaults. Click "Yes" and then click "OK" to close theInternet Properties window. 4. If these do not work, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Run dialog box, and then click OK: <kbd>regsvr32 urlmon.dll</kbd> Repeat step 1 for each of the following commands: <kbd>regsvr32 mshtml.dll </kbd><kbd>regsvr32 shdocvw.dll </kbd><kbd>regsvr32 browseui.dll </kbd> regsvr32 oleaut32.dll regsvr32 actxprxy.dll regsvr32 shell32.dll<kbd></kbd> <kbd>OR</kbd> Open Windows Explorer.Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.Select 'open'.Click Edit."Application used to perform this action" should read:"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome (Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the double quotes.) DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have: #1:"%1",,-1,0,,,,#2IExplore#3 (blank)#4WWW_OpenURLURL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same. Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE. For Firefox "Application used to perform this action" should read: C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1" .
