only 64 bit software is connecting to internet
Windows 7 home premium 6.1.7600 Build 7600 x64 based PC Intel Core i5 CPU 750@ 2.67GHz 4 core(s) 4g ram installed Using Shaw Secure as AV/firwall etc (its a F-secure brand) Yesterday my internet went down as did my neighbors. When things came back up only Internet Explorer 64bit can connect to internet. Not regular I.E. or firefox or windows live or utorrent or any other typical program will connect to internet (for example Firefox says Server not found). Windows update will run though. I had just within moments of things going down updated Adobe so i tried uninstalling it. I have also reset my system several times. I ran my antivirus found 1 malware which was cleaned. I have run Shaw support (this program also was glitchy yesterday and just now is working again) and followed thier recomendations. I have reset my cable modem. i have called my internet provider and went through thier suggestions. I honestly don't know what to do next, this computer and install is only about a month old and i am so disapointed to have issues already. edit to add this isn't the first time this has happened about a week ago coinciding with an adobe update again this all happened. I re-installed firefox a couple times, tried installing opera (it never initialized) rolled back my computer to my last system restore reset the sytem and modem several times and none of it seemed to make a difference. I had to go to work, when i came home everything just worked again. 2nd edit- Shaw support has gone glitchy again it said no internet is working prior to the glitchyness. Same issue exactly while in safe mode (only ie 64 bit works). Turning off firewall or full antivirus didn't change anything. still googling and trying things... will update what doesn't work as i try.

All is well now. Ran system restore back to my last windows update and that seemed to do the trick. In the time between the computer also had updated nvidia drivers so those were rolled back aswell. I'm unsure wether the issue was one of those updates or other stuff that had gone on inbetween, but am happy to have resolved it. Here's hoping it doesn't happen again.
