So I have a particular machine that is experiencing some odd behavior. It is an optiplex 790 that was imaged with windows 7 64-bit. For some reason, when the computer is deployed to the user's work area, the workstation is unable to access any network resouce-LAN or internet. yet, when it is at my desk, it works just fine-no problems at all. Driver re-install, driver update, driver roll back-all did nothing . The only two things that fixed it were A) going into safe mode and then coming back into regular Windows and B)resetting the TCP/IP stack-both of these fixes were just temporary. We are going to go ahead and reformat but does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

Hi, Did you check if the other computers encounter the same issue when connect on that user's work area? Is there any firewall or network connection settings which blocked the connection? Sorry-I forgot to mention one of the keys-two other computers put there work just fine. And yes we have our corporate firewall in place and I am not aware of any specific network settings that would block such connections.

i did not try a clean boot. Due to time constraints, I ended up just reformatting. I am going to give it a couple days and then apply the WOL settings and see what happens (it is possible that we have a environmental issue but that is still TBD)
