no way to delete old/incorrect connections
i travel alot throughout the country and use many different wifi points sadly i have many many connections stored which i no longer use i.e. sumter1 holidayinn6 and so on in windows vista it was relatively simple to delete these connections. in windows 7 it appears they are permanent. or am i missing something here.??? i also have my home connection showing a number 2 behind it i assume it id not connect right the first time. again there eappears to be no way to remedy this as the connection, lets call it "athome 2" is for my wireless AP and the router has a different name all together. how do i delete the connections? i have tried highlighting it and press the delete button it asks are you sure you want to delete i click yes and the response is sorry no can delete this connection. several of my corporate clientel have the same concerns of leaving an "open door" connection via spoofing a simple router ssid: at which time i could gain access to most pc's. Having the ability to delete the old connections would not allow this.

FYI I don't see Manage Wireless Networks at that path. I do see it if I search the Control Panel for wireless. With some Windows 7 intallations you may have to take a different path to get there but the Manage Wireless Networks feature works very well once you're there.Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience

problem solved..in networking from desktop on top of the page is the general map i.e. pc-gateway-internet i have my network settings to "public" now below is the preferred settings to represent this is a "bench" for public. click the bench a window opens with options to merge or delete networks. this holds true for windows7/32 i dont know about the rest.
