no internet connection
I can not connect to the internet wirelessly or wired since installing windows 7 RC. It worked fine with Vista. I have a realtek 8150 wireless card.I manually set the IP address, because it could not do it in auto mode. I went to their web site to look for a updated driver, but found only Vista drivers. I tried it and now it at least says it can connect to the internet in the lower tray, but in network tree it says no internet, and I can't surf.I pinged from the computer to the router with good ping. I then went from the router to the computer with no ping. I then tried to wire it up with still no internet.Any ideas?

Was it a fresh install or an upgrade? If it was an upgrade you may want to try and disable then re-enable the card, run a release and renew in cmd prompt then re-assign the static IP.

I wonder how you tried to install the drivers from the website if you cannot get online. Try removing the card from device manager. Let Windows install a new driver and see what happens. If you upgraded from Windows Vista, that may be the problem, and you should install it fresh instead.

I have encountered this after upgrading my vista machine to W7. Similar to the OP W7 has no issues seeing the router and the default gateway is set to the correct IP address (i.e. that of the router). I use all default drivers. Anyway to get it to work after booting the machine I simply disable and then re-enable the Local Area Connection in Networking. Works everytime although I shouldn't have to do this of course.
