no internet connection
I just installed windows 7 on a partition with xp on the same computer. There is no internet connection. the error message is.. "Install a driver for your wireless network adapter. Windows did not detect a properly installed wireless adapter. If you have a wireless network adapter, you will need to reinstall the driver." When i try to install a driver it says there isnt one. Its a nvidia nforce card apparently. i only have 1 computer and dont know anything about networks. Its comcast cable. The connection works good on the Xp partition.

Try downloading the latest network drivers for your adapter. My W7x64 installation has the same issue, although I use a wired connection.Edit: To clarify, log onto your XP installation, download the latest driver, burn it to CD or put it on a thumbdrive, and then copy it onto your Windows 7 partition.

Try to install the driver from the DVD/CD that came with your nforce card. If that did not solve the problem, go to http://www.nvidia.com to look for the driver of your network adapter.

I think i need to get a vista driver for an old NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Controller on XP, so windows 7 gets on line. The error is "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter you need to reinstall the driver."nVidia's site isnt much help... http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

I had the exact same problem. I did a clean install as I was running XP and unable to upgrade. Is your wired connection not working properly or is it just the wireless? Because, I found that if you can get a connection to the internet, all you need is a driver update - fixes all. If you can get your LAN (wired) connection up and running, go to the device manager (right click my computer -> properties -> device manager (on the right)) and click on Network Controller (it will probably have a yellow troubleshoot exclamation mark icon). Click update drivers and it will be able to recognize and connect to the internet no problem. The LAN connection is a life saver! Fixed all my driver issues :)

Seems to be the same problem I have. I also tried to use cable network and wifi neither of it works. But I'm using really old hardware.I think yours might be newer so I would suggest go to the website of your computer brand and download there the newest drivers. It should work - if there is an error message try to install them in compatibility mode which you can switch on by a right mouse click on the .exe - properties - compatibility. It should work, I hope :)
