new laptop with Windows 7 can't connect to dlink dir-615 (rev b) router
I have a new laptop with Windows 7 (Home I think). When I plug in the ethernet cable internet works great. I have other machines connected via wi-fi to the router. When I try to connect the new laptop to the router with a password, it doesn't seem to connect. Is there something I would need to update or change in windows 7 to get it to work? My other machines are Windows XP and seem to work fine. I setup my router with: Security Mode: WPA-Personal WPA Mode: WPA2 Only Cipher: AES Group Key Update Interval: 3600 Any help is greatly appreciated!

You just need to ensure you have ALL the wireless settings correct and matching the routers settings. I use two laptops with wireless connecting to a wireless router using WPA2 and AES.

Hi, I would like to suggest you update the wireless network card driver and the router firmware for Windows 7 first. If it does not work, you may also try the Network Troubleshooter in Windows 7. For more information, please read the following articles: Setting up a wireless network Set up a security key for a wireless network Regards,Arthur Li - MSFT
