foolowing up to earlier post of limited connectivity - the wireless connection status box says this problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer. I then hit the repai button and it says it is renewing your IP address, BUT then says it could not finish repairing the problem because the following action can not be completed Renewing your IP address Generally, the "network" can't assign a network address because the computer isn't properly connected to the network. Most often, this happens with a wireless connection where the wireless encryption password hasn't been entered correctly. So ...How is the computer connected to the network? What make/model of wireless router are you using? What is the make/model of your wireless adapter? What level of wireless encryption is enabled? What other wireless security measures, if any, have been configured? If you have XP installed (this IS an XP forum), which variety of XP and which service pack?************************I now see your other post mentioning that you are having difficulty when using a Netgear USB wireless adapter (this is why you should keep all related posts in the same thread).Assuming that the hardware hasn't changed or failed since you were able to connect, it seems that all you need to do is to reconfigure the wireless encryption password for your Netgear adapter.Go to Network Connections and right click on the icon for the Netgear adapter. Select Properties. Then click the "Wireless Networks" tab. In the list of "Preferred networks," find and"remove" the entry for your network (if you don't know which is yours, remove all of them). OK your way out.The next time you "View available wireless networks" and attempt to connect, you will be asked for the password. Enter it carefully.
