network connection problems in new acer aspire laptop
I bough a new laptop in the beginning of December 2009, and by the end of the month the cable company shut off my internet due to billing issues. But when I finally turned my internet back on a few weeks ago, my laptop does not connect to my router. It has other available connections in my area, but mine doesnt stay. It finds my router, connects, and then it disappears 5 minutes later. I have a linksys router, and the internet works fine on all my windows XP pcs. Also, I dont know if this is relevant, but i'm also having an error with Windows Virtual Wifi Miniport adapter, it has a yellow exclamation point because "it cannot load the drivers require"(code 31). I've updated that and anything else you can imagine.

Try to uninstall the Wireless utility and driver. After doing this, uninstall the Virtual Wifi if it is still present. After you have uninstalled both of these, then allow Windows to search and install a driver for your wireless card.

Hi,As Daniel said, please uninstall the driver and reinstall it for a test first. If the issue persists, I suggest you download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website and install it in Compatibility Mode. Also, please temporarily turn off firewall and antivirus program to check the result. Thanks,Novak
