mysterious lost emails in Window Live Mail
I am running windows 7 and use Windows Live Mail to view my emails. I normally store my emails in Storage folders. When I now go into a folder I can see the email headings but when I try to open them it only ever shows me the same email from the folder no matter which I select. I went in to the store folder and could see the emails and they showed that they had the correct subject and that the file sizes were different but again when I try to open them I only ever get to see one email from the folder. This is the same for all the folders i.e. I get to see one email from each of the folders. I did a back up a while back and looked in these folders and I can see the emails and open them and they ahve the same file size as is shown in Windows Live Store. Is this a known problem? If I were to deinstall windows Live Mail would this effectively delete all my storage folders? Even if iot didnt if I were to export the folders and then reinstall windows live mail and then import I may only get the same as I have currently. I also tried to import the emails from the back up I mentioned above but the system tells me "No Messages can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open" I made sure everything was shut down but it still came back with this. I have also tried copying directly the backed up viewable message into the WLM storage folder but it still only shows me one email. Totally at a loss.

Hi, According the issue, I recommend that you may try to use CHKDSK command to check the partition which you stored the mail. 1. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories 2. Right click "Command Prompt" and choose "Run as administrator", accept the UAC prompt. 3. Type the following commands and press Enter after each line. Chkdsk x: /f (X: is the Driver letter you want to check) Since this is a Windows Live Mail related problem, I also suggest that you may access Windows Live support website to get more information about this issue.
