i looked in my stat menu and found disk defragmento and i clicked on it just a white grayish screen pops up nothing else inside the box. help me to reinstall windows xp disk defragmentor

Hello dennisdi It sounds like the Disk Defrag resource file has been deleted or corrupted. That means you need a new copy of dfrgres.dll. You can find it on the Windows XP installation CD or copy it from another XP computer where Defrag is working properly. The file is stored in compressed form on the CD (the name is dfrgres.dl_) so you need to expand it. If you have the XP CD, put it in your CD/DVD drive, click Start | Run and type cmd.exe to open the command window. At the prompt, type:expand D:\ i386 \ dfrgres.dl_ -r %systemroot% \ system32 (This assumes your CD/DVD drive is D; otherwise change the command to reflect the drive letter of your CD/DVD drive).
