Hi jfey52 It sounds as though the Toolbar has got switched off. You should see a Star shape in the top right corner that will let you access your favorites, but if you wanr to have the Toolbar back in Windows Explorer then press ALT+V Select View > Toolbars > and click on Menu Bar...........this will add a tick next to Menu Bar Job done Hope this helps Rgds PatThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Pat thanks!! nothing happened with ALT+V so i just right clicked up in the area and noticed the Toolbar was indeed switched off (options weren't highlighted) as you suggested (how curious!). Anyways I followed the rest of your directions and voila! Toolbar is back but ya know the little "shortcut" star icons for favorites/add to favorites well they aren't showing instead there's an option tab "Add to Favorites" with an arrow listing the other options below that are 3 tabs Favorites, Feeds, History. I don't remember those being there either? what the heck's goin' on? jackie

thanks for your reply. Well, I thought that's what i did when i clicked on the pop up or whatever it was that indicated internet explr updates were ready to install. I'd like to be able to view the new features however I can't get beyond the problems! Ever since i clicked to accept the install (wed 6/22) i have been having all these random issues and they all point back to the day i clicked on the update button!! some of the issues: now most times when i go online the window takes forever to load and either won't respond (i have to restart) or the page opens to display "connection problem" (yes, i've clicked on "diagnose the problem" and the diagnosis: im not connected to the internet? which is absurd cuz i am, but had my provider (COMCAST) refresh even though they couldn't find any connection problem. That worked temporarily so I now resort to restarting my computer to correct what has become a common occurrance. another example I just noticed: when i switched tool bar back on (still keeps doing this) the browser window goes off except for the webpage name. ex: IN http:/'social.microsoft.com/Formus/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/3e4 (is how the websites now appear in the browser window, not just this website) bold text =text that's highlighted in the browser window getting very frustrating!! maybe I should just update Internet Explorer 9 all over again.

Hi ifey52, Before you reinstall Internet Explorer 9, you could try the following way to check if it could work: Go to Control Panel\Programs and Features\Turn Windows features on or off. Uncheck Internet Explorer 9, click OK and reboot. You will not have Internet Explorer installed then. Go to Windows features again and check Internet Explorer 8, reboot Windows 7. If issue persists, try to reinstall Internet Explorer 9 to see what the result is: How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
