multiple copies of the same device
My windows xp is very slow to load. So I went to the startup/shutdown troubleshooter and it recommended uninstalling multiple copies of the same device. In the device manager there are two devices with multiple copies: Intel pentium D CPU 2.80 GHz, is listed twice under Processors and System board is listed twice under System Devices. Could this be my problem and would it hurt anything to uninstall them and restart the computer?1 person needs an answerI do too

I've never tried to remove the CPU from device manager, but you could remove both copies of each device, and then allow Windows to detect the hardware again, and see what gets re-populated.Open Device Manager and right click on each item. Remove the device. Remove all 4.On the top is an icon to detect new devices. Click that to begin detection. Allow that to complete.Reboot if instructed to.Thomas Dietrich
