move built in lync server accounts to new OU

I want to install Lync but have issues with the fact that CSAdministrator, CSArchivingAdministrator, CSHelpDesk, CSLocationAdministrator, CSResponseGroupAdministrator, CSServerAdministrator, CSUserAdministrator, CSViewOnlyAdministrator, CSVoiceAdministrator, RTCComponentUniversalServices, RTCHSUniversalServices, RTCProxyUniversalServices, RTCSBAUniversalServices, RTCUniversalConfigReplicator, RTCUniversalGlobalReadOnlyGroup, RTCUniversalGlobalWriteGroup, RTCUniversalReadOnlyAdmins, RTCUniversalSBATechnicians, RTCUniversalServerAdmins, RTCUniversalServerReadOnlyGroup, RTCUniversalUserAdmins and RTCUniversalUserReadOnlyGroup get place in the root of users.

How can I during setup create an OU called LyncServer Accounts and have them placed in there.  I understand moving them after the fact is going to break lync, I'm just curious how I'd do it.

Any suggestions?

Hi Bryan,

You can move the CS groups and the RTC group no problem after the installation...to any OU.

I actually do it all the time :-)

Cheers

Hi,

you cannot do this during the deployment. you can create seperate OU and add those groups after you complete the deployment successfully.

I should have put "after the installation"  in bold :-)

that might be because it's not the best practice to do it :)

IS there anyway to do it at time of installation like in a powershell command?

no. you cannot do it wile the deployment is taking place. those Security groups are actively involving the deployment and if you move them, the deployment process might fail.

I was just about to move those groups to a new OU, but I think I will wait until I have completed the Insta
