Hi Brite water,• How many computers are present in the network?• What are you trying to access, is it a program or a shared folder on the network?• In which computer do you get the error message, is it on Windows XP or Windows Vista?Firstly, check if File sharing is enabled on both your Windows XP computers and Windows Vista computer. If not, enable file sharing on all the computers. How to configure file sharing in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040Enable file sharing in Windows Vistahttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Enable-file-and-printer-sharing1. Make sure all the computers are in the same workgroup.2. Make sure no third party firewall/security software blocks sharing.3. You may try to disable Password protection sharing.Disable password sharinghttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Networking-home-computers-running-different-versions-of-Windows4. Make sure you have assigned permissions in the Security tab in the Properties of the shared folder. The best ways to share files are to share from an individual folder, to move files to the Public folder, or to use the Sharing wizard. If this doesn’t work, then you need to manually apply permissions to a file or folder. Visit the link below that talk about how to apply permissions to a file or folder. To apply permission to a file or folderhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/What-to-know-before-applying-permissions-to-a-file-or-folderHope this information is helpful.Mouneshwar R – Microsoft Support--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
