mobile device/phone support?

Is there anywhere where support for devices like iPhones is detailed?  We understand that nothing that requires endpoint components will work, but there are some things like 'file access' that seem like they should work but do not.

Also, is there any way to modify the look and text of the 'premium mobile portal'?  I can't seem to find much documentation on the mobile stuff at all.

Thanks.

Hi Jim

Any application that is pure web should work, and I see no reason why File Access would not work (even though I have not tried it myself). Have you maybe set an access policy on this app, and since endpoint detection is not running, you are denied access to the application?

Yes, you can modify the look and text of the Premium Mobile portal. You can find some instructions on how to perform some of the portal customizations (not necessarily for Premium Mobile) here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/edgeaccessblog/archive/2009/11/26/customizing-the-portal.aspx

As for what folders and files under the PortalHomePage parent folder you can customize, I’ll try to mention a few here:

·        App_Themes \ WinCE_Office – this holds the Premium Mobile Theme files

·        Data \ Languages – holds the text files for different languages, and these are not related to specific themes

·        Data \ Sitemap – holds the toolbars for the Premium PC and Premium Mobile themes

·        WinCE – ASPX files for the Premium Mobile theme

·        WinCE \ User Controls – user controls for the Premium Mobile theme

I don't think that the endpoint components are stopping iPhone access to FileAccess.  They are the basic web ones.  When publishing the FileAccess application, the choice to enable mobile devices is greyed out.  If publish localhost as a web application with /filesharing/ directories, I can choose to enable mobile access, BUT that only lets me view the folder trees on the iPhone, not open up any files.  I can navigate, open files, etc. that published web application fine in IE on a PC.

It would be really useful to be able to open word files on a mobile device from fileaccess.
